DH Financial Analyst

Research and development company across the technology spectrum for a wide range of national security and commercial customers has immediate openings for a full-time Financial Analyst to work in our Northbridge, CA and Arlington, VA office.  These are exempt, non-supervisory positions that report directly to the Director of Finance.
Summary:
Compiles and reviews budgets for corporate and divisional business units using actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports, and other data sources to control funds and provide for proper financial administration.  Prepares financial plans and regular and special-purpose reports, maintains historical records, analyzes trends, establishes cost rates and personnel forecasts, prepares comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds, and determines rationale for variances between costs and budget.
Primary responsibilities:

  • KPI reporting, gathering and generation of data; allowing for greater focus on reporting and analysis of the business
  • Budgeting, Forecasting and Measuring short and long term projects
  • Customers projects progress reporting
  • Develop and implement financial models and ROI analysis
  • Calculate indirect rates including Benefits, Overhead, COMM, & other DCMA/DCAA requirements.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support
  • Recommended Experience/Education:

  • Min 6+ years of FP&A and or accounting experience
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related quantitative majors
  • Manufacturing Cost experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and FAR requirements
  • Ability to travel to support business needs
  • Recommended Skills/Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to create complex financial models and reports
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to effectively interact at all levels within the organization and with external customers.
  • Must have strong proficiency with MS Excel, and Midsize ERP Systems (preferably Deltek Costpoint)
  • Ability and willingness to keep maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
  • Detail-Oriented skills
  • Displays a positive attitude in discussion, including if there are conflicts
