Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant works collaboratively with internal and external partners on cost analysis, cost reporting, forecasts, budgeting, and benchmarking through the execution of various project stages.

Job functions include, but are not limited to: Cost Accounting Implement and manage a consistent means for updating standard costs and develop a process for tracking/reporting gross margin by customer, SKU, and product line.

Retrieve, report, and analyze cost and margin by customer, SKU, and product line.

In-depth financial, cost, and margin analysis.

Partners with operations in manufacturing, logistics, and procurement to understand financial inputs and provide guidance on operating decisions.

Ability to evaluate processes and determine best practice.

Assists with detail cost forecasts and budgets.

Assists with financial audits.

Produces reports/dashboards to communicate cost performance versus budget.

Performs trend analysis and actively evaluate operational cost performance to identify potential risk areas and validate forecasts.

Assists CFO/Controller/Assistant Controller as needed.

Cross train on other accounting jobs as needed.

Additional duties as needed.

Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting or related field.

5 or more years of experience in accounting/finance; preferably in production or manufacturing environment.

2 or more years of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.

Knowledge of financial/cash projection.

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Microsoft Excel) and relevant project management software.

Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results.

Creative and innovative approaches and solutions on a project-by-project basis.

Demonstrated effective written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.

High regard for respect in the workplace with good ethical and moral judgment.

Excellent attention to detail and desire for consistency and accuracy.

Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.

Ability and drive to take initiative and follow through.

Flexible work approach able to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.

Strong knowledge of software-based ERP, order entry, CRM, payroll, or related systems.

A mindset to be an effective analytical problem solver.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience using SQL.

CPA Certification.

Knowledge of financial/cash projection tools and processes.

Education Required Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field by Jobble
