Corporate Controller

The Corporate Controller (Director of Accounting) position oversees Accurate Background’s accounting activities related to the financial reporting process, accounting operating systems, billing & invoicing and associated analysis.

The ideal candidate should have strong people & management skills, proven knowledge of GAAP accounting regulations, practices and standards, and the ability to handle large amounts of data.

In addition, this leader should have a demonstrated ability to manage the details of accounting operations and possess a comprehensive knowledge of accounting operating system logic.

The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will work collaboratively with the Financial Compliance and FP departments.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the month end close process
• Prepare GAAP consolidated financial statements
• Create and maintain fiscal records
• Implement new accounting pronouncements as the primary technical accounting lead
• Oversee, manage and train the India Accounting Team
• Prepare and outline financial models
• Manage external audit process
• Manage reporting for external parties (banks and ownership)
• Advocate and manage interactions with business leadership as necessary
• Find and implement process improvements and efficiencies
• Enforce accounting policies, methods and principles
• Mentor and train managers and staff Qualifications:
• 8 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years of management experience.
• Active CPA highly preferred
• Prior public accounting experience required; Big 4 audit experience preferred
• Hands on ERP system experience with Netsuite & Concur preferred
• Strong US GAAP Knowledge
• Proven experience in managing teams and implementing positive change
• Experience working with foreign subsidiaries and foreign currencies preferred
