Job Summary: The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the completion of the month end close process and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.
This position is also responsible for oversight and training of accounting staff.
Responsibilities: QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with at least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience is required.CPA certification is required.Prior SEC or public accounting experience is desired.
Proficient with general ledger systems MS Excel and other analytical tools.Highly motivated individual that works well in a fast-paced environment.Strong managerial and organizational skills.Strong critical thinking/analytical ability and problem-solving skills.Ability to effectively communicate accounting issues with senior leaders and external auditors both verbally and in writing.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise month end closing activities and provide guidance to accounting staff during the process:Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliationsOversee resolution of accounting discrepancies and issuesEnsure the completeness and accuracy of financial statements through review and ensuring monthly closing steps have been performed completely and accuratelyOversee staff ensuring closing checklists are fully utilized and updated as needed.Ensure Company financial records are maintained in compliance with Company policies and US GAAP.Further develop internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes.Serve as a resource for groups outside the accounting function on accounting matters.Proactively identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.Hire develop retain and direct high-performing team members.Demonstrate leadership and management in a manner that positively motivates and supports company values policies and ethical procedures.Create an environment that allows for creativity and fosters independent thinking.Proactively establish priorities and ensure consistent and timely follow through.Coordinate responses to external audit groups.
