Position Summary
This is a highly-visible, hands-on position which reports to the CFO and is responsible for all accounting functions. The Controller s overall responsibility is to develop, implement and maintain transaction systems, internal policies, procedures and controls, and to produce best-in-class financial reports to meet the needs of both internal and external constituents (executive management, board members and customers).

Focus Areas:
Revenue Recognition : build and maintain systems necessary to recognize revenue in accordance with GAAP so that our revenue reporting is reliable and our annual audits go smoothly.
Annual Recurring Revenue : account for ARR promptly and accurately because ARR is the basis for our most important financial metrics.
Reporting : prepare timely, accurate and consistent financial reports, tax returns and key metrics so that our leaders and investors can assess the condition of our business and we comply with tax and governmental regulations. Manage our auditors (EY) and tax preparers (RSM) to support you in these responsibilities.
Internal Controls : Improve and automate our company systems, processes and policies to increase our efficiency and ensure we comply with current and prospective standards requirements.
Operational Finance : generate customer invoices, oversee collections, pay bills, manage our credit card and expense reimbursement programs and run payroll to ensure we run smoothly.
Equity Administration : implement tool (e.g., Carta, Pulley, etc.) to manage our stock option issuances and other stock option events.
Subject Matter Expert : work with our sales team on the potential accounting and ARR impact of alternative contractual terms for new deals
Leadership : while role is an individual contributor today, opportunity to add one resource in 2022 and more in 2023 as justified by business growth.

Required (and Preferred) Qualifications:
10 years minimum of progressive accounting / finance experience, including 3 years minimum in a software enterprise.
CPA required; meaningful Big 4 experience preferred.
BA / BS (finance or accounting or MBA preferred).
QuickBooks expertise.
Understands SaaS revenue recognition and business dynamics
Excellent organizational, communication and prioritization skills
