Responsibilities: Job Purpose The Club Accountant/ Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting, payroll, and human resource functions within the course.

Club Accountant/Controllers have a deep understanding of operational concepts and possess a strong attention to detail to deliver results.

Under the direction of the General Manager, Club Accountant/Controller serves as an adviser and thought leader on the financial and operational objectives of the course.

ResponsibilitiesSupervise all accounting and reception staff regarding accounting and financial procedural requirements to ensure accuracy and timeliness of location’s financial reportingMaintain facility payroll and timekeeping databases by processing personnel changes and bi-weekly payrollMaintain the membership database for member billingAssist General Manager in ordering office supplies, completing all month end financial entries including reporting and schedules on timeFacilitate accounts receivable collections through phone calls and lettersMaintain location information systems and resolves hardware/software issues with assistance from corporate Information Technology functionHelp General Manger prepare annual budgetsInterview, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and discipline staff hired to perform accounting functionsEnsure adherence and accountability of all internal controls and company accounting policies and proceduresImplement and support all American Golf initiatives and programs as requested by managementOther duties may be assigned by management Qualifications: Qualifications2 years accounting/finance experience, including monthly reporting and general ledger managementWell versed in computer-based accounting systems, Internet applications and Windows operating environment with ability to operate computer, calculator, fax, copier, and telephoneFamiliar with management of a timekeeping system, preferably KronosAbility to produce financial statements under tight month-end deadlinesMust have strong attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers and managementMust be fluent in EnglishA valid driver’s license is required Education4-year college degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, JD Edwards experience a plus Skills/Abilities/Personal CharacteristicsComplianceAuditingVerbal and Written CommunicationAdvanced MathResolve ConflictTeamworkBudgetingAnalyticsThoroughnessEfficiency Working ConditionsDays and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull.
