In this vital role, you will provide strategic planning support to the Chief Pharmacy Officer while delivering administrative leadership and direction within the pharmacy service lines to ensure achievement of the division’s strategic plan, financial budgets, and operational efficiency.

You will serve as a liaison between UCLA Health leadership and pharmacy leaders to create a culture of open communication within a safe and supportive environment.

Your passion and expertise will ensure fiscally viable and optimal service delivery in all areas of Pharmacy Services.

You will:
Direct business and financial operations, including drug budget and optimization of the current 340B program
Develop and implement new 340B programs and services
Identify and implement IT systems and pharmacy automation and analytics
Ensure all areas operate within established policies, procedures and in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines
Plan, implement and direct ongoing activities to optimize fiscal prudence and budgetary compliance
Partner with the Chief Pharmacy Officer to develop business and operating plans
Ensure operational efficiency, productivity and effectiveness
Manage financial and capital resources, inventory, equipment maintenance and supply acquisitions
Analyze income and expense reports
Drive process improvement initiatives

Qualifications
We’re seeking a highly-effective, independent leader with:
PharmD degree – required
California pharmacy license or license eligible within 6 months – required
Extensive 340B experience – required
PGY 1 or HSPA PGY1/PGY2 residency or equivalent experience – preferred
MHA or MBA – highly preferred
5-7 Years of progressive leadership experience
Previous hospital and retail pharmacy experience
Board Certification (e.g., BCPS) or equivalent
Ability to foster cooperative working relationships with subordinates, supervisors, colleagues, and hospital staff
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical and decision-making skills
Ability to set direction and vision for major departments or multiple departments
In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and how they apply to pharmacy operations and processes to maintain compliance
Proven record in managing financial operations, personnel, quality, IT and other aspects of hospital and outpatient pharmacy practice
