A Long Beach Large Distribution/Import/Export company is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team.The Accounting Manager ( MBA or CPA) is responsible for overseeing the accounting/financial reporting systems and operating accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and record keeping activities.
This role works closely with all levels of management, staffs and suppliers/customers to ensure that all transactions are processed accordingly booked based on the company’s accounting standards.
This role also manages financial reporting, ad hoc analysis and leads various accounting projects.
This position is remote and will require going into the office daily.Job responsibilities include but not limited to:Manage and oversee day to day accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Cost Savings, ROI, and General LedgerManage timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing process and financial report preparationResponsible for accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Prepare sales, use and property tax returnsManage, coach and mentor a team of 5 AccountantsProvide support with various audits (internal audit, sales and use tax audits, property tax audit, and others) and all accounting related projects (annual tax return, special tax projects and ad hoc projects)Manage accounting reporting for top management/headquarter/external requests and provide response and data upon requestsAnalyze the workflow of transactional accounting and drive processes towards lean methods and continuous improvement recommendationsWork closely with the finance team to identify ways to maximize revenue and potential areas of cost savingsEnsure local, state and federal complianceMaintain and improve business processes, company-wide financial policies, and limit of authorityAssist with other duties as assignedSkills/Qualifications:MBA or CPA Public Company or Accounting Exp.
is a HUGE PLUS or an MBA, in Accounting, Finance or related field is requiredMinimum 5-7 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance in manufacturing environment preferredSupervisory experience (managing, coaching, teaching, mentoring) requiredAbility to get things done working collaboratively across cross-functional depts.Strong problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) proficiencyExperience with large ERP system is preferredNeed good job stability MBA / CPA is a plus Years of exp.
