Accounts Payable Accountant

Job Description Lotus Communications Corp is actively seeking a full time Accounts Payable Accountant The corporate Accounts Payable Accountant will demonstrate the ability to contribute to department success by ensuring efficient AP procedures and accounting processes.

Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments for vendors; reconciling and resolving discrepancies as needed; and building and maintaining positive vendor relationships.

This position may also require to provide other clerical, financial and administrative support to the accounting department including, but not limited to, booking of journal entries, account reconciliations, general filing, and scanning of documents.

Role and Responsibilities: Point of contact for all vendor inquiries Responsible for full cycle accounts payable (Process high-volume invoices for multi-entities, receive/verify/code/post AP invoices) Creates and maintains vendor files with required documentation Pays vendors, contractors, and service providers by verifying transaction information; computing charges and refunds; identifying overdue accounts and insufficient payments Processes Accounts payable vouchers and prepares disbursement Assists with annual 1099’s review process for Corporate and markets Creates purchase Orders for Corp & IT Purchases, when needed Acts as AP backup for the markets, when needed Assists month-end closing duties.

Analyzes accounts, and research problems Supports the Corporate Office with various accounting responsibilities Takes ownership of responsibilities and strives to improve processes and meet deadlines Other duties as assigned and necessary Qualifications: Knowledge in basic and intermediate accounting principles.

Experience within the broadcasting industry, preferred but not required Experience with large ERP systems (i.e.

SAGE) Proficiency in MS Office Suite including strong Excel skills required Detail oriented and ability to work independently Exceptional organizational skills Exceptional written and verbal communications skills Self-motivated, ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines Ability to prioritize daily routine and urgent tasks Adaptable and collaborative mindset Education and Experience: Bachelors degree with emphasis in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration 2-4 years of relevant experience with high volume accounts payable required Company Description Founded in 1962 by Howard A.
