What You’ll Do
- Serve as the accounting lead for the Company’s broker-dealer subsidiary and own the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of company financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Work directly with the Company’s broker-dealer regulatory reporting team to provide necessary financial reporting for the broker-dealer’s monthly Focus reporting including net capital and customer reserve calculations
- Assist with all internal and external financial statement reporting, including preparation of statements of cash flows, drafting of financial statement footnotes, and preparation and maintenance of financial statement support
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementation of new processes, including training requirements, and implementing any accepted recommendations and process improvements
- Evaluate accounting and internal control systems, track and follow up on recommendations
- Oversee all AP/AR duties including billing, payment application, and collections
- Provide support for annual broker-dealer audit
- Assist with leading other ad-hoc or project-related responsibilities as needed to support the Corporate Finance and Accounting Department
What You’ll Bring
- 6+ years experience in Accounting or Finance roles, experience in both public and private accounting preferred
- Broker-dealer accounting experience preferred but not required
- Experience with 404-SOX compliance preferred but not required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred but not required
- Big 4 Experience preferred but not required
- Robust understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles
- Strong project management skills and ability to effectively prioritize work in a high-growth environment and meet monthly regulatory reporting deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Prior experience with Netsuite preferred
- Proficient in MS Office
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
