Vaco Los Angeles is working with a client in Los Angeles who is looking for a temporary highly skilled Accounting Clerk. This position is responsible for a wide range of clerical functions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure the accounting accuracy of all invoices.
Objectives/Responsibilities of this Role
- Invoice customers contracts & work orders according to contract terms & conditions and provide all required documentation
- Enter daily purchase order receipts, verifying all paperwork is correct and filing after processing
- Maintain weekly open order backlog
- Backup to Accounts Payable
- Ad hoc requests
- Process accounts payable invoices weekly and ensure vendors are paid within terms
- Reconcile all bank & credit card accounts and ensuring the accounting system reflects the correct entries
- Attend contract kick off meetings to understand accounting requirements as needed
- Setup customer contracts and work orders in the accounting system
- Deposit all customer payments into the bank and post the payments in the accounting system
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills, filing, and attention to detail
- Experience in Microsoft Office especially Excel with aptitude to learn new systems
- Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles a plus but not required
- Works well with others individually and as a team
