Accounting Assistant

Health Advocates is seeking an Accounting Assistant for our office in Chatsworth, CA.

Job Summary
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks to support the finance department. Job responsibilities include: assists in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded; updates and maintains subsidiary ledgers; compiles financial data to support financial statements and reports; records incoming payments and checks in order to properly reconcile bank accounts; accounts receivable including collection; accounts payable including credit card transactions; provides support for month end closing; assist with external audits;; performs miscellaneous related duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent, or any combination of experience, education, or training to perform the essential functions of this position
  • 3+ years of experience performing full cycle accounts receivable duties
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
  • Basic knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software
  • Excellent communication skills and abilities
  • General accounting acumen
  • Ability to understand and manage various databases
  • Detail oriented with good organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Must be able to type 30 wpm

Pay Rate: Depends on Experience

Position Type: Full-time; Non-exempt
Schedule: Alternative Work Week Schedule – Mon-Thur 7:30 am-5:00 pm & Fri 7:30 am-12:30 pm
Other: We conduct assessment testing and post offer background checks
