Senior Accountant

Primary PurposeThe Senior Accountant is responsible for the accuracy of the general ledger and the supporting reconciliations and documentation for preparation of the financial statements, grant reporting/invoicing, annual audit and analysis/ad-hoc reporting as requested by senior leadership.Essential Functions1.

Reconcile general ledger accounts.2.

Post journal entries to the general ledger.3.

Prepare and review regulatory reports for compliance.4.

Prepare grant reports/invoices and provide supporting documentation to grant personnel in accordance with specific grant documentation requirements and filing frequency as determined by the granting agency.5.

Maintain and enforce internal control measures.6.

Ensure accounting information is input accurately and timely.7.

Maintain the chart of accounts.8.

Conduct operational analysis and recommend improvements.9.

Review and compile audit documentation as requested by the Controller.10.

Responsible for document filing and retention.11.

Analysis/ad-hoc reporting as requested by senior leadership.12.

Monitors all financial banking accounts.13.

Acts as primary liaison with Grants Management Department and Program Managers.14.

Reviews documentation and allowability of grant expenditures.15.

Assist with preparation of grant budgets and variance reports for individual grants.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from accredited institution.2.

5 years of general accounting experience.3.

2 years of experience in a similar position (Accounting Manager role).4.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.5.

Preferred:a.

Experience in a Community Health Center, Primary Care Association or organization primarily funded by federal grants.b.

CPA licensec.
