Company Overview

TESP designs, develops, qualifies and manufactures a variety of small, highly reliable products, which in many cases are intended to operate explosive devices such as EEDs (Electro-Explosive Devices), EB​Ws (Exploding BridgeWires), EFIs (Exploding Foil Initiators), and other similar devi​​ces. Product applications include Aircrew ​​Safety, Launch and Tactical Vehicles, and Energetic Devices.​​

TESP is an operating unit of Teledyne Technologies. TESP is located in Chatsworth, California, and has been manufacturing products since 1986.  

Position Summary and Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain EAC Cost Summary Report (PMCP) for each contract.
  • Update monthly information (costs incurred) on all PMCP’s, analyzing and verifying for accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate with GM, Program Manager and Controller to obtain estimates and budget adjustments to jobs.
  • Review program manager inputs for reasonability
  • Conduct gross margin analysis on the job to compare the budget cost of work vs. actual cost incurred.
  • Create journal entries to post the cost of goods sold adjustments and revenue on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare monthly results reports for review by management and participate in monthly program reviews with General Manager, Program Manager, Group Controller and Controller.
  • Assist Controller in preparing monthly forecasts, quarterly results presentations, and annual business plan.
  • Prepare journal entries for month end close and input financial results into Corporation’s financial consolidation software.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accredited program certificate in in Accounting.
  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) preferred
  • Must have intermediate to advance experience with all Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project
  • MAPICS XA experience preferred
  • Must have knowledge of accounting / ERP systems
  • Must have working knowledge of Revenue Recognition / Multiple-Element Arrangement (MEA) analysis
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
