Job Description

You will be responsible for developing a world-class team member experience.
As the Manager of our compensation, benefits and payroll programs, you will be responsible for evolving those programs by employing best practices, scalable solutions, and technology to do so.
Ensuring a solid foundation for these core areas is essential for us to build a strong and sustainable business.
You will work across the business with all teams to ensure our benefits and compensation programs address their needs, are market-competitive, and can scale effectively.
And as it relates to payroll, you will play a key role in the implementation of our new HRIS/payroll platform and process payroll through that system once live.
To achieve success and deliver results, you must be driven, collaborative, and goal-oriented, intuitively understanding the amazing culture we have built and nurturing it in the work that you do.
Responsibilities:
Collects all payroll information including 401k, tax, and prepares and process semi-monthly payroll including collection, approval, and payment of invoices to our independent contractors
Calculates all wages, benefits, tax deductions, bonuses, etc.
Trains all contractors and hourly employees on maintaining our timesheets and invoices
Manage and oversee all benefits plan designs and related processes, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, Life Insurance, HSA/FSAs, 401K, etc.
Develop, manage, and administer benefits programs and compensation strategy to align with tech market standards
Oversee the open enrollment process, including plan renewals, partnering with brokers and benefits carriers, leadership engagement, and employee communications.
Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns
Preparing reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management.
Ensure company compliance with employment laws across the nation (CA, NY, IL, AR, OH, OR, VA, and other states we expand into)
Must-Have Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development, HR certification, or demonstrated experience in a similar business environment
Knowledge of benefits and compensation design and administration, in conjunction with local, state and federal guidelines.
Knowledge of payroll administration and multi-state processing, in conjunction with local, state and federal guidelines.
Confident, capable leader who is eager to learn, contribute, and drive forward initiatives – showing a strong work ethic proven by accountability and the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality at all times.
4+ years of experience in managing and evolving compensation, benefit and payroll programs
Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment of constant change and improvement
Proficient in HR tools and applications (Example: Greenhouse)
Excellent technical skills (G Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various internet browsers)
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
Deep startup experience preferred
SHRM-SCP or HRCI certification
AIRS CDR, PRC or A/CIR certification
