Process Engineering Supervisor

PURPOSE AND ROLE:

The purpose of the Process Engineering Supervisor is to provide leadership and technical expertise to the Process Engineering Group at the Shreveport Refinery. The role is responsible for the oversight, management and development of Process Engineers

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that Process Unit Monitoring is being performed by Process Engineers.
  • Responsible for ensuring engineers prepare weekly and monthly reports for local and corporate management.
  • Coordinates unit troubleshooting efforts with Operations to provide necessary resources for resolving problems.
  • Provides technical review of Process Engineering Documents (Daily Reports, Catalyst Projections, Capital Project work)
  • Serves as primary contact for 3rd Party Engineering Support.
  • Provides technical oversight on Bidding Processes requiring Engineering Knowledge (Catalyst, Chemical Vendors)
  • Develops training criteria for Department to develop technical skill sets for team.
  • Serves on Capital Projects Steering Team to approve Project Charters and progress Front End Engineering work.
  • Works with Turnaround Department to provide technical support during Unit Outages and Turnarounds.
  • Assigns team resources to MOC’s, PHA’s, Incident Investigations and other activities to ensure PSM Compliance.
  • Provides feedback and insight to the Planning Department to develop and meet Refinery Production Plan.
  • Provides insight into the capital budget for the Shreveport Facility.
  • Prepares and manages the process engineering expense budget.
  • Responsible for development of Dept. Goals and individual Performance Plans
  • Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identifies and resolves issues/conflicts within the process team.
  • Provides Process Engineering support to Safety and Environmental Departments as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. Engineering degree; Chemical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of Refinery Process Engineering experience required.
  • 3+ years of prior supervisory/management experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and electronic.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Must possess strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with PI Data Historian preferred.
  • Experience with Process Simulation Software
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
