Associate Director, Imaging

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

The Associate Director of Imaging over MRI, Interventional Radiology outpatient CT is responsible for controlling the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned imaging areas, in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Medical Center philosophies.

The Associate Director assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, serves as liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promotes the maximum growth and development of each employee, supports research, participates in strategic planning, both long and short term, and assures patient advocacy.

Guides staff in meeting customers needs consistent with Medical Center philosophy, mission, vision, strategic plan, and the Plan for Provision of Care, CSMC Code of Conduct, the Performance Improvement Plan, the Patient Education Plan, and Professional Organizational Standards. 

The Associate Director maintains competency skills including the ability to provide imaging services to patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Responsible for assuring staff competency in provision of age related patient care.

Identifies safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment and provide appropriate assessment, intervention and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones in the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Imaging Sciences or related science required, Masters degree preferred

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

CA Licensed in Radiography required.

ARRT radiologic certification required.

Advanced ARRT MRI or Interventional Certification preferred.

Experience

At least 3 years as a Director at a small community hospital or 3 years as a supervisor/associate Director at a large level 1 hospital

Physical Demands:

Must be able to move from site to site on a daily basis.

Exposed to radiation and magnetic fields.
