You will gain exposure to Wells Fargo’s operations, business strategies, and corporate culture by working in Wells Fargo Commercial Capital’s Asset Based Lending Corporate ABL division with experienced team members.

You will work closely with the Asset Based Lending relationship team and develop expertise in the companies and industries you serve.

Your responsibilities will include:
– Analyzing a company’s financial, operational, and management strengths and weaknesses to identify potential capital, balance sheet, and reputation risks
– Preparing comprehensive company annual financial reviews as well as underwriting memorandums focusing on a company’s leverage, key risk factors, sources of repayment, collateral performance, cash flow, and ability to service debt
– Assembling a variety of financial schedules including projections in support of recommended credit actions and decisioning models as a tool for processing small customer credit requests
– Identifying credit issues early in the underwriting process and recommending ways to mitigate/reduce risks that fall outside of business appetite
– Partnering with relationship managers and credit underwriters to structure multi-million dollar transactions
– Reviewing loan agreements and other legal documents related to credit exposures
– Understanding client needs and identifying other Wells Fargo products and services that can help clients achieve their goal
– Monitoring of current events and financial information for highly visible, often publicly traded companies
– Participating in client meetings, due diligence visits, and other client interactions to gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers
– Assist with risk and compliance related projects and initiatives On-the-job experience: You will work as part of a high-performing team in Asset Based Lending to gain in-depth experience as a financial analyst.

You will begin to build your analytical skills and understanding of credit by actively participating in your teams day-to-day activities Credit fundamentals and accounting/excel modeling training: You will have courses during the Financial Analyst Program to advance your credit underwriting proficiency and solidify your accounting knowledge and excel modeling skills Specialized training: The Asset Based Lending division will offer specialized training to foster a deeper understanding of your business and, you’ll become familiar with financial, technical, and operational tools and processes to help you improve your credit underwriting/problem-solving skills.

Hired to work full time within a wholesale banking office and formally enrolled in the Wholesale Banking Financial Analyst Program (FAP).

Assists with financial modeling/projections, credit analysis and industry/business risk analysis in support of loan structuring decision making activities for mid-sized companies and large corporations.

Researches, examines and interprets customer portfolio, competitors and related industry in order to participate in the preparation of a comprehensive credit report opinion.

Reviews and interprets credit policies and procedures and incorporates requirements into credit analysis, observations and may formulate lending recommendations.

In support of more senior staff performs credit underwriting which accounts for all risk factors and providing risk rating recommendations.

In support of more senior staff, monitors and maintains an existing loan portfolio which includes ongoing interpretation and analysis of financial information to determine borrower compliance.

Completes periodic professional development training as scheduled.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
