Digital Marketing Director (Music)

RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Define, plan, and execute digital marketing campaigns for artists.
  • Manage relationships with artists, managers, and other partners.
  • Develop and manage artist websites, other digital and mobile protocols, including user
  • experience design.
  • Contribute to the design and creation of the artist”s digital assets, including photo and video content
  • Lead the creation and utilization of all artist websites and social networks with updates,
  • posts news, content, etc.
  • Quantify the success of digital promotions, media campaigns, eCommerce efforts, social engagement and partnerships via various analytics tools. Additionally, develop consistent benchmarks to quantify success by comparing campaigns across the entire portfolio of artists.
  • Leverage relationships and expertise between artist teams and social media partners (TikTok, Instagram/FaceBook, YouTube/VEVO, Twitter, etc) on best practices, content trends, engagement and promotional opportunities.
  • Discover new sites, outlets, influencer accounts to promote artists and maintain relationships with key sites and partners.
  • Measure and analyze overall campaign performance and provide insights and key learnings to develop a set of best practices.
  • Evangelize insights, learnings and best practices to other departments and key stakeholders.
  • Participate in the paid media planning and media buying process to ensure tight synergy between digital creative and distribution.
  • Create and manage database marketing campaigns to find new fans and optimize conversions.
  • Identify viral, digital word-of-mouth marketing opportunities with the goal of driving traffic, fan acquisition, and creating brand awareness for artists.
  • Drive direct to consumer revenue from recorded music sales, merchandise, ticketing, advertising, and subscription.
  • Partner with internal departments to execute effective interactive strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 5+ years of experience in digital marketing within the music industry, preferably at a major label. Experience at a digital streaming platform is also welcome.
  • Expert knowledge of all current social media and digital platforms, and a proven track record of amplifying content, creating on platform engagement, and breaking artists through a social media lens
  • A track record of measurable success planning and executing digital campaigns for artists at every stage of their journey: from developing artists to superstar
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with using Excel, PowerPoint or Keynote, Photoshop, video editing software
  • (Premiere or Final Cut), and comfortable with collaboration and asset management tools like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.
  • Must have strong computer knowledge of various music applications and excellent knowledge of the Internet.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment while juggling multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Passionate music fan with broad knowledge of music & creative marketing, well versed on 88rising artists.
