CARGO OPERATIONS MANAGER

Description

Directs and coordinates the activities of Departmental Supervisors, Local-Operations Supervisors, Operations Supervisors, non-exempt employees such as; Customer Service Agents, Warehouse Agents and Office staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper staffing is scheduled and maintained for Terminal Operations.
  • Reviews expenditures to comply with corporate P&L levels.
  • Ensures all training is given to new employees.
  • Ensures proper documentation is prepared by staff to maintain compliance with airline guidelines, FAA, TSA, CBP and other regulatory agencies.
  • Directs Supervisors to ensure proper freight handling and delivery.
  • Develops standard operational and working practices.
  • Reviews operational reports and resolves problems.
  • Reviews equipment inspection forms to ensure specific operational and safety compliance.
  • Ensures that the operation in efficient, safe and within the budgetary parameters
  • Motivates, coaches and counsels staff.
  • Responds to critical situations with customers, freight and employees.

Required Skills:

  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university or 5 years previous supervisory/management experience.
  • Aviation Industry experience a plus.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing, including drug testing.
  • Must pass an FBI background check and obtain a custom seal;
  • Must pass driver’s test with the Department of Airports and obtain a driver’s license to drive on Airport Operational Area (AOA);
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to meet airline client work schedule requirement.
