We’re looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world Synthetic Molecule Design and Development (SMDD) has an exciting opportunity for an analytical chemist to join our product and process development organization.

You will be part of a diverse team of analytical chemists, chemical engineers, synthetic chemists, and formulation scientists delivering product and process understanding across a broad range of platforms.

Top candidates for this position will be able to: Enable the design, development, and implementation of analytical methodologies for the characterization and analysis of oligonucleotides, peptides, and small molecules.

Show proficiency in multiple modes of chromatography, mass spectrometry, optical spectroscopy, instrument engineering, or other analytical technologies.

Work with multidisciplinary teams to enable process development (both drug substance and drug product) by ensuring that right data/knowledge is generated.

Establish a control strategy for drug substance and/or drug product that can be transferred into manufacturing and successfully registered, globally The ideal candidate will have breadth in multiple analytical techniques (UHPLC, IR, NIR, LC-MS, Raman, UV) used in the analysis of synthetic molecules.

Must be computer savvy with the ability to navigate multiple instrument control software and data analysis environments, be a team player with demonstrated learning agility, have strong technical problem-solving ability, and have an internal motivation to work independently and achieve efficient, quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Position Responsibilities: Apply analytical technologies to enable synthetic chemistry, chemical engineering, formulation sciences, and continuous manufacturing.

Deliver analytical solutions that guide process and analytical control strategy development for syntheses and formulations.

Engage with scientists across Eli Lilly’s Development and Manufacturing organizations to develop a deep understanding of new initiatives and improve existing scientific processes.

Identify and exploit new scientific concepts, strong problem-solving skills, and be self-motivated to contribute across multiple projects.

Strong written and verbal communication to speak to both technical and business-related implications of your work.

Enable successful global regulatory approval for new products (both clinical and commercial).

Basic Qualifications: PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemistry.

Experience: 0
– 3 years Additional Skills/Preferences: Reversed phase chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, size exclusion chromatography, chiral chromatography, mass spectrometry Ability to learn and apply technical knowledge to meet changing project needs.
