Intel is seeking an Associate Indirect Tax Director to join its Global Tax organization.
Reporting to the Global Indirect Tax Director, you will play a key role in driving and managing the Global Indirect Tax function with a specific focus on all aspects of existing and forthcoming Global Indirect Tax Technology programs.
You will also be responsible for supporting the Global Indirect Tax Director with advising on key strategic projects within the group including planning and consulting, business process and compliance management and global controversy.
Core responsibilities: To work closely with IT and various business partners to lead the successful implementation of a Global Tax Engine including provision of new indirect tax requirements covering tax determination logic as well as data needed for tax compliance and reporting, testing, documentation and risk management.
To establish and monitor the requirements and processes necessary to implement changes in tax classification, rates, or other changes impacting the taxation of Intels products and services.
To review existing Intel Indirect Tax processes and controls to proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and manage risk, to evaluate options and make recommendations with the overall Intel enterprise systems and technology landscape.
To monitor and assess the impact of real time and digital reporting developments (SAFT-T, e-invoicing etc) to Intel and work with appropriate internal teams to implement necessary and efficient solutions To build relationships and partner with key stakeholders cross functionally including but not limited to Accounting, IT, Legal, Supply Chain, Shared Service Center teams, Trade and various Business Units.
To work closely with external advisors such as Thomson Reuters, SAP, Ariba, and third-party consultants that provide tax technical and systems information and support, as required.
To work with regional Intel Tax teams (EMEA, US, LATAM, APAC) to collaborate on and execute local and Global Indirect tax systems and process projects.
To provide day to day Indirect tax advisory and consulting to Intel business partners as required.
To research and assess the impact of legislative changes on Intel and own any communication and change that will be required as a result of that.
To provide Indirect tax strategic insight into Intels new business ideas and opportunities, to develop relationships with key business partners, and be part of the review and assessment of the tax design and due diligence.
To partner with the Global Indirect Tax Director to manage Intels overall Indirect tax function, driving change, managing risk, growing internal and external relationships and building a world-class Indirect tax team.
Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum qualifications: 9 years of Indirect Tax experience gained either in Big4 Accounting or Industry or both with a broad knowledge of International Indirect taxes (VAT/GST) laws and regulations.
Proven experience managing and researching complex Indirect tax (VAT/GST) concepts relating to the cross-border movement of goods, SaaS/XaaS, digital VAT reporting and other similar issues A strong background in Indirect Tax and ERP systems to enable you to lead the implementation of tax technology programs and develop strategic initiatives.
Ideally you will have experience with SAP ERP system infrastructure, OneSource tax engine, Ariba and/or other similar tools and technologies.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field.
This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications: Some knowledge of US Domestic Indirect Taxes (Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax).
Experience in leading a team, providing a path for career development and the desire and ability to provide both the Indirect Tax team and our stakeholders with training and tools to grow and succeed.
