RealStreet has an assignment for a Construction Manager in Ridgecrest, CA. As a Construction Manager with RealStreet, you will be working on a Government contract to provide oversight duties for individual construction projects. Job Responsibilities
The Construction Manager position is based in Ridgecrest, CA, and will be responsible for providing oversight of projects with a value in the range of $100M-$400M. Additional responsibilities of the Construction Manager include:
- Reviewing contract drawings and specifications (including RFPs) for construction and conformance to base operations constraints and existing field conditions
- Participating in pre-award and post-award meetings
- Reviewing contractor administrative submittals including
- Schedules
- Environmental protection plans
- Design and construction quality control plans
- Health and safety plans
- Accident prevention plans
- Visiting construction sites to:
- Monitor progress
- Solicit input from the Engineering Technician Quality Assurance representative
- Review CQC reports
- Attend QC and progress meetings
- Providing technical solutions to problems that arise during the contract duration in coordination with the designer of record and construction contractor
- Providing project status updates to senior Government personnel within the field office
- Coordinating property record inventory documents, DD1354 Transfer and acceptance of Military Real Property and Disposal of Department of Navy (DoN) Real Property
- Identifying the need for modification to scope, cost and/or schedule and supporting the change orders
Job Requirements:
Specific qualifications for the Construction Manager role include:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management from an accredited ABET university or an architectural degree from an NAAB accredited university is required; fifteen (15) years of relevant experience may be substituted for education, including the seven (7) years of required experience
- Seven (7) or more years of experience as a construction manager, project manager or project/field engineer working on commercial or industrial facilities contracts valued in excess of $10 million, with the ability to:
- Perform constructability reviews
- Complete cost estimates
- Perform technical analysis on contractor cost proposals
- Identify risk and their potential impact while developing risk mitigation plans
- Traverse construction jobsites
- Experience working on NAVFAC or Army Corps of Engineers projects is preferred
- Five (5) years of experience utilizing all aspects of:
- Primavera P6 scheduling software
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Preferred credentials include:
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Registered Architect (RA)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) from the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
- Active Secret clearance is preferred
- Must have a valid, current Driver’s License
- Must be a US Citizen
