Vice President, Corporate Actions, Trade Support
Responsibilities
The VP position will manage the corporate action team and work closely with both internal (investment teams, custodians, compliance, accounting teams) and external (custodians, outside counsel, agents) stakeholders to ensure all voluntary corporate actions events, bank debt amendments, restructures/private offers, and proxies are processed timely and accurately. In addition, this person will be responsible for managing corporate action vendors and offshore service providers.
Establish and maintain policies and procedures for the corporate action team and continually monitor and enhance controls when necessary to mitigate risks
Ensure resources have the capacity needed to meet demand while balancing workloads across onshore and offshore resources
Develop team talent and skill set to optimize processing complex and time-sensitive events
Develop, maintain, and monitor team KPIs to assess trends, performance, and improvement opportunities
Work with investment teams to establish SLAs to ensure a common understanding of notification requirements and turnaround times
Facilitate discussions with traders, accountants, reconciliation, and other internal teams to address corporate action challenges
Collaborate with IT and vendors to ensure technology utilization is optimized
Identify improvement opportunities and drive process improvement initiatives
Participate in industry groups to stay informed on standards, trends, and emerging technologies
Collaborate with Fund Accounting teams to ensure Corporate Actions are recorded timely and accurately in the Geneva accounting system
Coordinating/processing voluntary/mandatory events, bank debt amendments, restructures/private offers, and proxies with various Oaktree offices and stakeholders
Responding to and/or resolving escalated issues by working with custodians and counterparties
Qualifications
12+ years relevant corporate actions experience
Experience with all corporate action types including restructures, proxy voting, and knowledge of associated accounting treatments
Experience working with syndicated loans, and associated corporate actions
Understanding of ISO/SWIFT standards
Proven problem-solving experience including root cause analysis and process improvement
Strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft products
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Experience working with Geneva and Black Mountain Everest preferred

Education
A Bachelor’s degree is required.
