We are currently seeking an experienced Certified Phlebotomy Technician I for a Full Time Day shift for our on-site position in the city of Los Angeles, CA.

– Friday plus possible 1 hour of OvertimeHOURS: 8:00am-4:30pmLOCATION: Los Angeles, CA 90033 Job Duties: -A phlebotomist’s first duty is to make sure that they are drawing blood from the right patient.-Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log; bringing discrepancies to the attention of unit personnel.-Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticks.-Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures; observing isolation procedures.-Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of collections performed.-Performs bleeding-times tests by entering results to the computer; notifying pathologist of results falling outside normal ranges.-Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Job Requirements: -1 year of pediatrics experience-Qualified candidates must be California State certified in Phlebotomy (CPT I or CPT II).-Must have a minimum of 2-5 years of direct phlebotomy experience-Must have a valid CPR Card from American Heart Association OR American Red Cross ONLY.-Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations or titers (within last 12 months).-Must have a current TB/PPD or Chest X-ray (within last 12 months).
Education Requirements:High school graduate or equivalent, plus licensure of California Certified Phlebotomy State License.
(CPT I License).
