Senior Managing Director, Head of School & Community Partnerships

nnWe are seeking a Senior Managing Director, Head of School & Community Partnerships to lead our strategy and implementation for three crucial bodies of work
– (a) the onboarding, matriculation, and hiring of a large + diverse corps of new TFA educators , (b) a school partnership and placement approach that maximizes the impact and experience of our educators, and (c) community engagement, relationship building, and partnership development.nn nnThe SMD, Head of School & Community Partnerships will accomplish this by managing a team of five.

Under the SMD’s leadership, this team will evolve + implement strategy to onboard new teachers and develop strong school partnerships; evolve & strengthen our community engagement work; and collaborate effectively across our regional and national organization.

This person will report to the Executive Director and serve on the regional Leadership Team.nn nn nn nnTHE PERSONnn nnStrengthen Bay Area’s partnership with key community partners, thereby advancing education equity and value-add in our communities (35%)nn Continue evolving our strategy + vision for adding value to our school partners; for creating high-impact partnerships across the field; for building relationships with key leaders; and for leveraging partnership to benefit stakeholders (educators, partners, students, families).

Translate vision into a plan, including short
– and long-term priorities, strategies, and goals, and adjusting as needed.

Identify key stakeholders to engage
– school system leaders, elected officials, advocacy leaders, and other community leaders & organizations –  and develop a holistic engagement campaign.

Establish and cultivate authentic relationships at the individual and institutional levels.

Serve as the face for  with senior community, elected, and school system leaders.

Exhibit political acumen, gain knowledge of political landscape, and work to develop authentic relationships so that is a part of the social and education fabric of our community, and strategically participate in and/or build diverse coalitions towards advancing shared aims.

Enlist other regional team leaders towards advancing community engagement priorities, collaborating with Head of Program, Head of Alumni, our External Affairs team members, and our Executive Director.

nn nn nnManagement of Onboarding & Partnerships team (35%)nn Manage team of five leading to breakthroughs in the onboarding, matriculation, and hiring of our incoming corps members, advancing our placement approach to maximize corps member impact & experience, and cultivating school system partnerships.

Steward school system partners and community leaders, and navigate complex political landscapes, towards retaining key partnerships towards CM placement Collaborate closely with the SMD, Head of Program to strengthen partnership with our credentialing provider Hire, manage, and lead a diverse, high-performing team towards ambitious outcomes; develop a culture rooted in core values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness; ensure systems are in place for all team members to have clear goals and tools to measure their progress and support team members to achieve their desired impact.

– recruitment, matriculation, onboarding Experience managing others to outcomes Teaching and/or school-based experience preferred Knowledge of communities prefered Understanding credentialing regulations preferred.

nn nn nnWork Demandsnn Occasional weekend or evening work hours required.   Travel across our four bay area communities required (following CDC guidelines) nn nn nnTechnical skillsnn Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
