Laboratory Technician

– 40 hours per week.nn nn LOCATION: Atlanta, GAnn nn START DATE: Immediatenn nn SHIFT: 1st and 2nd shift are availablenn nn TRAVEL: Up to 50% local (non-overnight) travel requirednn nn n nn nnOur client located near Atlanta, GA is looking to hire multiple Laboratory Technicians to support their clinical laboratories.

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing COVID Testing/Screening/Collecting for onsite Corporate Testing.

They need to be highly proficient with data analyst and have worked in high throughput labs.nn nn n nn nn RESPONSIBILITIES:nn Take specimens through the entire PCR process utilizing pipetting and running thermocyclers Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.

Perform oral and nasal swabbing.

As you gain more experience, the amount of swabbing will decrease, and the amount of lab work will increase.

Use quality control policies to document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.

Apply established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels.

Document all corrective actions are taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance.

Specifications; and perform high complexity testing only under the onsite, direct supervision of a general supervisor.

nn n nn nn REQUIREMENTS: nn A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Forensics, or related field.

A Master’s degree in one of these areas is a plus.

At least 6+ months of non-classroom experience in PCR / qPCR / RT-PCR.

Academic lab experience or professional experience outside of the classroom is required.

Unfortunately, classroom-only experience is not sufficient Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Reliable transportation, driver’s license, clean driving record, and the ability to accommodate non-overnight travel to local sites to perform the job responsibilities.

Travel will be reimbursed.

Ability to be flexible with scheduling and to come in a few hours earlier or later than “typical shift due to fluctuations in demand.

Ability to work one or both weekend days is a plus
