Job Description:
Exceptional Opportunity to Lead Surgical Services at a Thriving, Mission-Driven Facility
I’m excited to share this high-impact leadership opportunity for a Director of Surgical Services in North of Los Angeles county in a smaller town, cheaper to live. With a growing surgical program, outstanding executive leadership, and room for innovation and service line expansion, this role is ideal for a tenacious and experienced perioperative leader ready to make a meaningful impact.
Having placed multiple successful directors who report directly to the CNO, I can personally attest to the supportive, empowering culture and the outstanding leadership team—which is entirely female-led.
About the Role
This role reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer and oversees the full continuum of perioperative services, including:
- Pre-op, PAT Clinic, Surgical Services (OR), PACU, Sterile Processing, Anesthesia, Endoscopy, and Cardiovascular Labs
- Clinical oversight across all service lines—including Ortho Spine, OB, and expanding specialties
- Management of 9 Operating Rooms, with additional OR capability in development
- Oversight of 2 ORs in Labor & Delivery, with surgical services expanding in that area
- Leading teams through orientation of new grads and specialty transitions, while hiring seasoned RNs
- Collaborating with physicians and administration on business development, physician recruitment, and service growth
This is a fast-paced, high-volume department performing 16–20 cases per day, running at least 4 rooms until 7 PM with a 12-hour shift model.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a proven perioperative leader who’s ready to take ownership, drive results, and build a collaborative, high-performing culture.
