Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU

Job Summary: The RN in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) monitors and cares for patients who are recovering from anesthesia after surgery. This role involves close observation, managing pain and potential complications, and ensuring a safe transition to the next phase of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient status post-anesthesia, monitoring vital signs and level of consciousness.
  • Administer medications for pain management or nausea as needed.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient recovery progress.
  • Identify and respond to complications or emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with surgical teams and families regarding patient status and care plans.

Work Environment:

  • Hospital PACU or ambulatory surgery centers.
