Manager, Sales Associates – Southwest/Florida

I. Job Purpose

Our Manager, Sales Associate role is responsible for helping drive and achieving the quantifiable goals set for the assigned region’s sales Business Units (Surgical, Head & Neck, Urology/Gynecology, Airway).

The Manager is also expected to establish and maintain strong working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders: nurses, physicians, materials management, procurement and administrative personnel in every account as well as internal KSEA departments (HR, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Customer Support, Service, Emerging Markets, etc.). This leader will also be expected to establish and maintain strong working relationships with the Business Units supported.

Lastly, the Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring their region’s compliance with company policies and for effectively managing the region’s operating budget.

This position will manage the Sales Associate team based in the Southwest/Florida areas.

II. Job Duties

Responsible for coaching a team of Sales Associates (SA) across an assigned geographical territory.

  • Manage, coach, and provide leadership to SAs, with the objective of enabling SAs to achieve sales and related servicing goals for KSEA products within assigned market
  • Ensure that all KARL STORZ policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensures SAs provide equal support of all sales activities related to all Business Units who have a Sales Executive (SE) in assigned market
  • Develop contingency plans for SA time off and provide support and coverage as needed for all accounts.
  • Plan and organize regional targets, objectives, and goals to ultimately drive revenue expansion in territories where SAs are deployed
  • Provide significant input into development of overarching regional SA deployment and account support strategy in regions where SAs are deployed
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers as necessary on where upcoming demos, loaners, software/remote upgrades, and tray inspections will be performed and potentially require SA presence
  • Collaborate and strategize with Sales Executives to improve customer service experience
  • Assign SAs to specific accounts and/or specific activities within territories and work with SEs to ensure SAs are performing up to desired standards
  • Strategic time management, prioritization, and deployment of SA activities
  • Ability to train on Product and Competency checklist

III. Minimum Knowledge, Education and Skill Requirements

Our successful candidate must have excellent written and spoken business communication skills. They will also possess :

  • A minimum education level of a bachelor’s degree or related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical repair or sales
  • Prior management experience preferred

Minimum hard skill requirements (including computer and application proficiency):

  • Ability to manage field activities included but not limited to; daily troubleshooting of operating room equipment, preventative maintenance checks, in-services, reporting, strategic quota management.

Minimum soft skill requirements:

  • Recruiting/interviewing skills.
  • Possess training skills.
  • Budgeting and expense control skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a project management fashion.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Possess strong People Development skills

IV. Essential Function

  • Resource optimization: effectively manage a team of SAs. Coach and develop talent to improve effectiveness of deployed SAs
  • Strategic alignment: Ensure SAs are aligned to the appropriate territories representing the highest opportunity for SE support
  • Performance tracking: Track all KPIs for deployed SAs and perform performance management improvements for SAs performing below targeted levels
  • Pipeline management: Create achievable pipeline expansion targets and support sellers to grow pipeline

  • Physical requirement/Demands: Must be able to be on their feet for extended periods of time including going up and down stairs and navigating multiple department within the hospital facility.
  • Mental requirements/Emotional Demands: Must be able to work in arena with exposure to sounds, sights and smells and have the ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
