Direct Counsel is seeking a Mid-Level Civil Litigation Attorney for an excellent law firm located in the Los Angeles area. Ideal candidates will have a strong litigation background and have a desire to join a diverse civil practice. This position provides the opportunity to handle cases in personal injury, employment law, and tenant rights litigation.
Requirements:
- Overseeing day-to-day management of caseload and directing support staff
- Preparing and executing discovery plans, including propounding and responding to discovery, drafting Meet and Confer letters, and Motion to Compel
- Drafting pleadings, briefs, and motions, including Motions for Summary Judgment
- Conducting third party, witness, and expert depositions
- Conducting legal research and investigations
- Attending court hearings and arguing motions
- Meeting with clients and conducting pre-trial and deposition preparation
- 1st or 2nd chair trial experience, personal injury experience is a plus
Experience you will need:
- Experience in personal injury, employment, and tenant rights litigation
- Admittance to CA State Bar
- 5+ years of litigation experience
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure and litigation strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in legal research tools and technology
- Trial experience as first or second chair
