:As part of its awarded contract for the Automated People Mover System for the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Alstom has in its scope the design, supply and commissioning of the automated vehicles, CBTC signaling and communication systems.The role of the

Installation, Test & Commissioning SIG Engineer

is to participate in the execution of the on-site T&C activities for the on-board and trackside CBTC Signaling system which comprises of the SIG Trackside (Object Controllers, Radio, Signals, Switches, Secondary Detection…), Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), Automatic Train Operation (ATO) and Automatic Train Protection (ATP).In addition for these activities, he/she will execute installation suppervision and support to the EI (Electrical Installer), Field Modifications (FMI) and PICO (Post Installation Check-outs).

RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in the writing of the T&C and adequate operating procedures for the allocated sub-system based on defined design specifications and the on-site constraints,Perform testing and reporting activities consciously with safety, quality, and in a proper manner according to the Testing and Commissioning process and documentation,Participate to the integration tests between the CBTC SIG Systems and the other systems off-site (when required) and on-site with the involved stakeholders (Vehicle, Car Wash, Communication Systems, SCADA…), including the execution of the System Acceptance and Integration Testing programme,Perform and provide preliminary investigations report on faults identified during the site testing. Perform LOG analysis and record NCR at specific database.Lead the consolidation of the test records to prepare the official test report,Provide support to the SIG T&C Leader for the daily tasks (tools, track issues, progress report…),Work closely with the off-shore experts to conduct troubleshooting of systems and equipment in order to identify the root cause and integration issues,Identify and propose containment and sustainable solutions with the support of the product team,Ensure the application of all EHS Golden rules (AZDP) during T&C activities.S/he reports to the SIG T&C Leader. Maintains a close relationship with the others members of the T&C community, product engineers, and T&C experts.Qualifications & Skills:EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Sciences or related field. 4 years related experience may substitute for degree.TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE4 years testing and commissioning experienceMultidisciplinary and polyvalent (especially in mechanical and electrical),Good Knowledge in electrical hardware design especially for embedded systems,Good knowledge in real-time systems (hardware and software concepts),Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and diagrams,Railway Signaling experience is a plus – preferably in CBTC.BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:Open mindset, able to work in a highly diverse and fast paced environment,Autonomous, thorough, team worker, curious, quick learner,Interest for the rail industry.When needed, availability to work in shifts and/or weekends.OTHERS:Location for the role: Los Angeles, El Segundo area.Salary Range: $90,000 – $113,300 annuallyAlstom is a global company where our people vision and values embrace Diversity and Inclusion (D&I).
