Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Analyst to join the Data Center Power & Control Division (DPC) Team in Anaheim, CA. The Cost Analyst will be responsible for all costing and inventory functions, coordinating with external departments to develop and maintain standard cost data and report on production and inventory transactions. Reporting functions will include month-end transactions and analysis. A key responsibility will be providing cost data to Inside Sales for project quotations.

What Will You Do?

  • Work with engineering and supply chain to develop, analyze, and update fully costed bills of material that will be the basis for inventory valuation and project costing.
  • Work with the production team to develop and maintain standard labor hours for manufacturing processes.
  • Develop standard wages and overhead rates by the department. Apply standard labor and overhead costs to costing models and inventory valuation.
  • Work closely with inside sales to develop project quotes by providing cost data and analyzing quotes for gross margin impact.
  • Work with members of the finance team to complete month-end close in a timely fashion. Collect data and prepare various month-end financial reports in Excel.
  • Analyze the cost of sales and Inventory data, identify trends and anomalies, and prepare a summary of findings for review by financial staff.
  • Maintain a perpetual inventory system.
  • Manage standard cost system and periodic cost rolls.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and data requests as required. Works on special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other similar and related administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 3-5 years of Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail, and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Requires close attention to detail, ability to audit work to identify issues and implement processes to prevent errors.
  • Strong computer skills, extensive knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software, proficiency with various e-mail, calendaring, meeting management, and related communications software. Demonstrated ability to learn and become proficient with company-specific accounting and finance software.
  • Able to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation. Able to create effective reports, presentations, and business correspondence. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information, and validate understanding of the information.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions.
  • Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business.
