Los Angeles January 2023 Associate Credit Analyst – Banker Development Program California Bank and Trust, a leader amongst banks in California, with over $10 billion in assets and nearly 100 branch offices in the state, is looking for an Associate Credit Analyst to join our Banker Development Program class beginning in January 2023 in Los Angeles . The Banker Development Program at California Bank & Trust is a credit and business development training program. Designed to grow well-rounded banking professionals with strong analytical and relationship management skills, the program provides robust training and career guidance. The Banker Development Program Offers: Foundational knowledge in banking A defined career path that begins with classroom training as a Credit Analyst One-on-one working relationships with high-level bank decision-makers Finance and accounting skills application to assess credit and business risk Increasing business development and relationship management or lending and portfolio management responsibilities Exposure to a wide variety of Zions Bancorporation divisions Competitive salary and benefits There are two phases of the Banker Development Program: The Initial Training Phase and the Rotational Phase. Phase I Initial Training (4 months) The majority of training for the Banker Development Program will take place in San Diego but there will also will be training in Salt Lake City, Utah at Zions Bancorporations headquarters for 2 training sessions that are each 2 weeks in length and at Amegy Banks headquarters in Houston for 1 week. During this portion, topics surrounding introductory banking, analytical concepts, and bank-specific administration will be covered. Some travel may be required to complete this phase. In addition to the self-study materials, during initial training Credit Analysts participate in: Case Studies and Discussion Sessions to review concepts introduced in the self-study materials Training to perform credit underwriting according to bank policy Bank compliance and regulatory training courses Introductions to senior management Department tours to provide an overview of bank operations Phase II Rotations (8 months) The primary objective of the Rotational Phase is on-the-job training. The rotational system offers each Credit Analyst in-depth exposure to various banking lines and banking groups, which facilitate the placement process and ensures the development of well-rounded Bank Officers. Various areas host Credit Analysts for rotations on an ongoing basis, dependent on departmental need. Some of the business line opportunities for rotation are listed below: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related subject Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (include GPA in resume or cover letter) Completed college-level coursework in Accounting, including Managerial and Financial Accounting Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and proven problem-solving abilities Leadership skills and community involvement Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferred Internship or prior work experience is preferred Participants who successfully complete the Banker Development Program can anticipate an exciting career path in banking, where upon completion you will be prepared for permanent internal placement within the organization.
