Chief Marketing Officer

Our client, an evolutionary platform of educational tools and global network of CPA firms, is looking for a CMO who will be implemental in the overall success of the company from driving promotional efforts, building brand awareness, developing promotional copy and creating campaigns for various prospects, customers and clients.

The CMO will develop an end-to-end marketing function that delivers messaging, branding, digital presence, product support, demand generation, content, research, and thought leadership.

Ideally they enjoy being a part of a growing business, building marketing departments and creating company strategy This will be a hybrid role, candidates should live in the Phoenix/Tempe, AZ area.

Responsibilities: Define corporate vision and develop an overall marketing strategy to establish company direction and focus through various web-based marketing programs and search engine optimization (SEO) techniques.

Partner with business leaders to ensure marketing programs and advertising expenditures support company revenue and growth objectives.

Work closely with Sales to develop successful strategies for nurturing prospects and clients.

Define, measure and report the performance of all paid marketing channels/campaigns and assess against ROI and KPI goals including client acquisition and retention.

Develop a scalable growth strategy through direct-to-consumer channels while also evaluating other sales/distribution channels for products.

Own and efficiently scale the marketing budget, allocating spending and optimizing a blend of channels to hit growth targets efficiently, while thinking long term and being resourceful.

Manage customer segmentation strategy and develop smart attribution modeling, ensuring we reach the right audience with the right message, at the right place and time.

Builds and develops the teams and technology required to collect, test, measure, and analyze marketing metrics necessary to identify trends in the marketplace, program effectiveness, and consumer behavior.

Execute multiple high impact initiatives to achieve overall corporate goals.

Drafts and prepares effective copy for promotions and client relations management campaigns based on company marketing strategy.

Manage company websites to optimize customer attraction and satisfaction.

Maintain current knowledge of online marketing opportunities and trends, tools, web analytics, and SEO techniques.

Work closely with company public relations firms to respond to opportunities within the national and local news created by industry changes and trends.

Teams up with company marketing partners to develop shared promotional activities.

Review and maintain the company brand and image.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead and develop department staff.

Draft policy and procedures to develop training for department staff.

Oversee the daily workflow of the department.

Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Handle discipline and termination of employees and in accordance with company policy.

Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

At least five years of experience as a CMO or Marketing Director and long-range planning required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Thorough understanding of market developments.

Thorough understanding of marketing strategies and practices including internet marketing.

Knowledge of social media and HTML.

Ability to conduct and correctly interpret research and web analytics.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Proficient with CRM application.

Regular and predictable attendance.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
