*_Our cosmetic client is searching for a Cosmetic Chemist who performs the analysis of various types of samples by HPLC, GC, FTIR, UVVis spectrophotometer, TOC, water activity, melting point, wet chemistry, FCC, and USP test methods independently and perform instrument troubleshooting._*
*Title: *Cosmetic Chemist
*Location: *Los Angeles California 90045
*Schedule: * M-F 6:30am-3pm
4 month contract to hire
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities: *
* Test raw materials, in-process, bulk, stability, method validation samples, and finished goods using HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, TOC, water activity, melting point, viscosity and wet chemistry methods
* Follow GMP procedures and is responsible for full compliance with the FDA regulations
* Test OTC raw materials according to the USP and FCC monographs
* Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments as required
* Prepare volumetric solution and perform standardization as needed
* Maintain all documents and retain samples
* Follow lab safety and properly dispose hazardous wastes
* Organize work bench area and clean glassware
*Qualifications: *
* Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering field
* Extensive laboratory experience, perform instrument troubleshooting, lead method validation studies and advanced knowledge of Analytical Instrument software with the ability to develop / adapt methods including Photo Diode Array detector.
