Title : Silicon Support Design Engineer Role : This role entails supporting the team’s PCIe PHY IP that involves developing test methodology, integration and debugging The Person Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details.
Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
Good teamwork and communications skills are mandatory.
Responsibilities IP Systems Engineering and Silicon Support for SerDes and Memory Interface IP Analog circuit and mixed-signal design for high-speed I/O SerDes IP in deep submicron processes Provide expertise in design, process and integration for advanced technology development.
Preferred Skill Sets & Experience Experience in the semiconductor industry doing analog mixed-signal circuit design Pre-Silicon and Post-Silicon engagement with Internal and External PHY design teams, Platform, ATE, IP characterization, and Firmware teams New product bring-up support from first-Silicon in the lab through initial production Triage observations from Silicon validation, and drive debug issues with ATE, Platform, Firmware, and Design teams as appropriate Develop/Contribute to diagnostic framework including Firmware for IP training, margining and debug High-speed I/O SerDes TX/RX design knowledge.
Also linear LDO voltage regulator design desirable Good understanding of CDR, bandgaps, PLL and DLL techniques and circuits Experience with advanced FinFET semiconductor technologies such as 14nm and 7nm preferable Basic understanding of Verilog RTL, digital circuits, as well as a general knowledge of the backend physical flow Familiarity with all Design areas and tools, (Hspice, Spectre etc.) and solid understanding of design/technology interactions Database query and statistical analysis skills strongly desired Strong understanding of analog mixed-signal layout techniques and circuit/layout interactions Python and/or Perl programming very desirable.
Also should be familiar with UNIX environment Laboratory experience, including hands-on use of equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
