Director, Internal Communications

Overview: We’re looking for a Director of Internal Communications to join our team Responsibilities: Headquartered in Hilliard, Ohio Advanced Drainage Systems is a $2B leading provider of innovative water management solutions in the stormwater and on-site septic wastewater industries, providing superior drainage solutions for use in the construction and agriculture marketplace.

Our innovative products are used across a broad range of end markets and applications, including non-residential, residential, infrastructure and agriculture applications.

We are the second largest plastic recycler in North America keeping nearly 600M lbs of plastic out of landfills while protecting the world’s most precious resource – water.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this enterprise leader will be responsible for planning and delivering compelling internal two-way communication to inform, connect, and engage our employees and their work to our business strategies, operational priorities, and company culture.

With our growth and geographically distributed team of home office, sales, engineering, and manufacturing / distribution network employees, our organization needs to make step improvement in our internal communication capability requiring this leader to bring both ingenuity and pragmatism to our messaging, tools, platforms, and processes.

To connect our messaging to our internal and external stakeholders, this leader will also develop and govern a management process to align and connect our broader ADS communication network including our CEO, executive team, marketing, investor relations, engineering, and other related functions.

Key ResponsibilitiesSets strategy and oversees planning and execution for ADS’ internal communications program, to inform and engage associates through their alignment and personal connection to our business strategy, priorities, and cultureDevelops and delivers integrated, coordinated and simple internal communications throughout the company and support the development of messages, tools, platforms and processes that lead to improved performance and the achievement of company goals including maximizing awareness, understanding and engagement around strategic, commercial and operational prioritiesLead the development and governance of a management process for the broader ADS stakeholder communication network for connected, timely, and impactful messaging to employees, shareholders, customers, suppliers, regulators, and the public at large involving our investor relations, marketing, engineering, and procurement leadersThoroughly understands the business strategy, objectives, and culture to partner effectively with leaders throughout the organization and translates them into simple action plans to inform, align and engage associatesServes as a conduit to a network of leaders and internal partners to help develop and deploy communication strategies and tactics that align with our brand and culture.

Oversee preparation, delivery, and continuous enhancement to our existing processes and communication vehicles (quarterly newsletters, quarterly CEO townhalls, sharepoint, digital signage, organizational notices, etc.)Build, develop and manage an internal and external team and network to support the achievement of the communication prioritiesCreates measurement strategies that allow consistent and timely monitoring of employee understanding and attitudes to identify and address gaps.
