GENERAL SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant assists in all financial matters of the company.
Specific responsibilities include assistance in financial and managerial reporting for all relevant parties, customer account monitoring and resolution, vendor payables and company payroll.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Produces monthly financial statements, which includes account reconciliation.Produces management reports as needed.Leads in preparation of budgets.Maintains accuracy of allocation of expenses, revenues, assets and liabilities to the appropriate accounts.Oversees resolution of vendor accounts and timely paying of vendors.Monitor and resolution of customer accounts and establishing customer credit.Maintains all cost accounting.Assists in maintenance of company internal controls.Assists in all tax return preparation.Assists in handling insurance needs for the company.Assists in documentation needed or required for all employee benefits.Reviews payroll preparation and oversees payroll tax requirements.Works with Human Resources in compliance reporting as needed.Assists in environmental compliance reporting as needed.Monitors cash flow.Performs related duties of the company as needed.SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:Basic financial accounting theory and terminology.Budget preparation skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Communication, both oral and written.Account reconciliation skills.Organization and ability to work independently.Problem recognition/resolution and decision making.Clerical skills and analytical skills.Good work habits including punctuality, friendliness, cooperation, neatness, accuracy,Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Outlook.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in accounting EXPERIENCE: Experience with Great Plains Accounting a plus.
