Our Supply Chain organization in Columbus OH, currently has an opportunity for a Senior Supply Chain Specialist.The US Planning Center (USPC) is comprised of US Production Planning, Export Customer Operations, and Global Master Data functions.

The Export Customer Operations team is responsible for developing and executing replenishment plans that ensure highest level of internal and external customer service with the least cost to the operation.

The Export Customer Operations team is responsible for controlling the flow of communication, replenishment schedules and documentation for nutritional products and medical devices from North American manufacturing sources.

The Senior Supply Chain Specialist serves as the primary supply chain liaison with customers to ensure on time delivery of product to meet market demand along with timely delivery of accurate documentation required to meet the import regulations of Abbott affiliates and Abbott’s direct customers.

The position is also responsible for leading efforts to proactively address issues and drive initiatives to improve the overall efficiencies of the supply chain in support of maximizing Abbott sales.WHAT YOU’LL DO Manage the shipment of product from manufacturing and distribution locations in the Americas to Abbott affiliates and direct Abbott customers worldwideAllocate product to ensure maximum container utilization and minimize transportation costsEnsure prompt, accurate and efficient handling of communications concerning shipments and any other relevant aspect of the businessMonitor key performance indicators for responsible area, perform root cause analysis, and develop and implement corrective action plans to improve levels of performanceMaintain the master arrivals schedule (MAS) to ensure replenishments are meeting market demand and safety stock targetsIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve overall effectiveness of the supply chain, increase customer service, and reduce operating costsLead cross-functional project teamMaintain customer and shipping requirements including system parameters, policies, and proceduresProvide training support to customer service specialists and affiliates on supply chain processes, procedures, and systemsDevelop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external supply chain partnersAct as customer representative in the Abbott supply chainEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING Required : Bachelor’s degree required: Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Business AdministrationPreferred:3 to 4 years of total experience in two or more of the following areas: customer service, international supply chain operations, transportation management, project management, planning.Must possess excellent organizational, follow up and analytical skills coupled with a high sense of urgency and the ability to resolve problems and produce results.Must have strong project management skills coupled with knowledge of supply chain processes and market requirements.Must be a demonstrated team player and can work in a global environment.Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to facilitate information flow across internal and external supply chain customers.Negotiation and conflict resolution skills are required to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions to issues impacting the supply chain including internal and external customers.Innovative skills and initiative are required to identify and implement business process improvements.Must possess a good understanding of MRP/DRP and planning systems.Ability to perform data analysis by extracting and analyzing large volumes of data through reporting and Microsoft tools.Accountability and ScopeThe Senior Supply Chain Specialist must possess a good understanding of the logistics role in the Abbott supply chainThis position must be able to make decisions regarding distribution of product to ensure cost effective transportation and timely delivery of product.The position requires the ability to proactively identify and communicate issues affecting on time delivery of product to the market.The Senior Supply Chain Specialist is expected to resolve day-to-day customer service-related issues independently and is also expected to take a leadership role in the identification and implementation of supply chain solutions to address supply and demand issues.This position is also expected to lead new business integration activities and drive continuous improvement supplychain initiatives in support of maximizing Abbott sales.JOB FAMILY:Customer Service DIVISION:ANSC Nutrition Supply Chain LOCATION:United States > Columbus : 2900 Easton Square Place ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS:WORK SHIFT:Standard TRAVEL:Yes, 5 % of the Time MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE:No SIGNIFICANT WORK ACTIVITIES:Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day), Keyboard use (greater or equal to 50% of the workday) Abbott is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities/Women/Individuals with Disabilities/Protected Veterans.
