WORK SCHEDULE: 1st Shift (8:00am- 4:30pm, Monday- Friday) At this time, 1st shift roles are eligible for a $750 sign on bonus. SUMMARY: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for processing and fulfilling customer orders. This position will require the operation of a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count merchandise. The Clerk is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform packer duties. Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment. Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped, efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas. Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare internal material transfers for shipping. Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers Ensure that outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and report quality variances Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods. Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required. Report all work related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping floors swept and absent of debris that may be a work hazard. Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: Minimum of 2 years relevant shipping experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting Experience in operating sit-down forklifts Computer literate Solid understanding of health and safety regulations Basic math, English skills and recording abilities Excellent organizational skills Ability to perform mathematical functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Ability to work flexible, extended hours and weekends as required Great communication and interpersonal abilities High school diploma DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS: Able to communicate effectively, written and orally Mechanically inclined and production oriented Team Player with high team spirit- stays to get the job done Happy to work and accept varying shifts PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The job requires constant or frequent standing, walking, squatting, stopping, crouching and reaching May require some kneeling and may require the use of feet to operate machinery Frequent use of hands/fingers to operate machine and/or handle and grasp product Frequent lifting, carrying, or pulling products weighing up to 50 lbs.
