The Plateroom Operator uses Newsway and other pre-press software applications to operate state-of-the-art AGFA CTP (computer-to-plate) imagers, processors and Nela vision benders to produce press-ready aluminum printing plates.In addition, this position works with press personnel to maximize print quality, performs cleaning and general maintenance of plateroom equipment, restocks raw materials, and performs light pagination of classified, legal, recruitment and obituary pages.QualificationsHigh school diploma.Effective and professional communication skills.Knowledge of Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel and other software programs.
Specialized computer software and equipment operation training will be provided.Must be able to lift 35-pounds regularly.
