Associate Director – Absence Management, Disability and Life

As an Absence, Disability Management andLife (ADML) Consultant, you will be at the forefront of managing projects for large, complexclients involving the design and management of the full array of group disability and broaderdisability management programs. You will participate in new business activities and the creationof new intellectual capital. You will position yourself to grow into a senior relationshipmanagement and/or leadership role by serving as the pivotal point on all projects and workingalongside industry experts on cutting edge solutions.TheRoleProvide value-added consulting expertiseon large, sophisticated ADML projects involving short and long term disability benefits, leaveof absence programs, vacation/paid time-off, sick leave, life and accidental death anddismemberment insurance and related programs; sample projects include:ADML benefit plan analysis, designand cost savings strategiesVendor procurement, negotiation andoptimizationAudits of vendor performance(financial and operational)Family and medical leave programdevelopmentServe as lead project manager and day today contact for clients; materially contribute to project plan creation and lead the team ondelivery; ensure progress against established objectives, budgets, timelines, deliverables andquality standardsSupport the generation of new business byparticipating in prospecting opportunities with new clients as part of a broader teamBuild relationships internally andcollaborate effectively on cross-functional teamsReview analytical work, mentor anddevelop Analysts and Senior AnalystsContribute to the development of newintellectual capitalContribute ADML and related perspectivesto broader health and benefits projects including health management strategyTheRequirements7+ years’ experience and success in thedesign/management of large group disability plans gained in a consulting or brokerageenvironment; alternatively, similar experience in a consultative role gained at a carrier orvendorStrong financial skills; prior experiencein group disability underwriting or claims management strongly preferredProven experience creating project plansand successfully leading teams in execution of the project against plan guidelinesDemonstrated success in managing clientissues and relationshipsDesire and ability to expandrelationships with current clientsPolished and well developed oral andwritten communication skillsSelf-starter attitude and ability to workindividually and as part of a teamFlexibility and proven ability toidentify and resolve issuesStrong analytical, creative andintegrative skillsExperience in training/mentoring juniorstaffExcellent Microsoft Office skills,particularly in Excel and PowerPointAvailability to travel at least 15%(mainly day travel)Bachelor’s degree required, preferablywith significant quantitative courseworkState Life and Health license requiredwithin 90 days of joiningWTW may be subject to mandatoryemployment-related COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
