What you would be doing: The Resident Assistant plays a key role at The Orchards.

Resident Assistant’s establish caring relationships with our residents and works with them to ensure their comfort and safety by attending to their routine daily needs and reporting care needs to the members of the nursing teams.

What your work schedule would be: We offer flexible scheduling options of 4, 6, 8 and 12 hours shifts to best meet the needs of your personal commitments and those of our residents.

The successful candidate: Is at least 18 years of age.

Exhibits the capacity to respond to the basic needs of the residents.

Preferably has prior experience in a residential care facility or nursing home.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.

Must be able to deal tactfully with residents, who may be ill, disabled, elderly, emotional upset and potentially hostile as well as family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.

Must be able to understand the needs of the elderly.

Must exercise patience and the sincere willingness to meet those needs.

Both full and part time employees accrue CTO hours.
