Paralegal and Contracts Administrator Full Time Days

DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Paralegal/Contracts Administrator will report to the General Counsel. The position will be based out of Hollywood, CA.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the company’s corporate/general counsel in all aspects of drafting, reviewing and amending a wide variety of contracts, including coordinating with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure company’s contracting processes are followed and that necessary authorizations or signatures are obtained.
  • Litigation support, including responding to legal discovery requests from outside counsel and gathering information, producing documents and witnesses.
  • Maintain a follow-up system and ensure that deadlines are met for all l itigation and corporate requirements. Compiles data, creates and updates spreadsheets used for tracking of contracts and litigation.
  • Assist with filings, applications, and other paperwork needed by regulatory bodies.
  • Act as liaison between the legal department and the company’s operating units, administrative and other departments, employees, outside counsel, regulatory agency representatives and other individuals and vendors outside of HPMC in accomplishing departmental and specific project goals.
  • Maintain insurance policies, COI’s and completion of all related documents, including renewal applications. Coordinate claims submission as needed .
  • Support various ongoing or special legal projects.
  • Assist company’s counsel in the implementation and management of compliance, regulatory and legal practices.
  • Manage and organize informational documents including contracts, legal reviews, and confidential inter-department files.
  • Act as point of contact for departmental tracking of contracts, updates, and more.
  • Attends committee and other meetings as assigned; keeps minutes and/or reports as appropriate
  • Provide administrative support to company’s General Counsel

Job Requirements:

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and paralegal certificate preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in a corporate or law firm environment
  • Experience with healthcare topics preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to work with various functions and levels within an organization
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously to complete tasks accurately, on schedule and with minimal supervision; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Standard, including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Need to have working knowledge of databases.
  • Ability to think on the spot in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to take direction yet work independently and take initiative, self-motivated, flexible and positive
