The Head of IT Infrastructure is responsible for all facets of overall service delivery, incident/problem management, network, systems and hardware. They are responsible for leading a diverse group of IT professionals maintaining the technology infrastructure including support for all devices. Under general direction from the CTO, responsibilities would range from working independently on multiple complex projects to serving as a technical manager, consultant, project leader and direct supervisor of IT staff and/or contractors. They will apply a broad range of knowledge and expertise to manage challenging and complex assignments, initiating projects and determining their staffing, schedule, methodology and completion metrics. They will assign and direct the work of technology staff and/or contractors, providing consultation, advice and support to the staff on a range of new development projects, integrations between a wide variety of internally and externally hosted systems, as well as providing development opportunities for the IT department.
Reporting the CTO, the successful candidate will need to work closely with our internal clients to develop consensus and find solutions to problems facing their business constituents, while maintaining a superior level of user satisfaction. This is a hands-on manager role. The successful candidate will work with all of the IT teams to assist in the implementation, management, and support of our critical business applications and systems. They will also establish a strong partnership with each of our business and corporate departments.
What You Will Do:
- Manage all facets of IT Infrastructure including the Service Desk, Network, Operating Systems, Hardware, PC/Laptop, Automation, DevOps, Incident Management, Databases
- Oversees IT Infrastructure Functions including Capacity planning, Config management, Asset management, Network management, Server management, Storage management, End user tooling, Load balancing, Monitoring and alerting of systems
- Lead audit and SOC readiness efforts for IT
- Ensure SDLC policy is adhered to from an infrastructure perspective
- Ensure documentation is up to date for infrastructure policies and procedures
- Oversee reporting of system performance, incidents, help desk tickets and vendor performance
- Staffing and staffing challenges
- Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies
- Oversees planning, development, purchase and implementation of network, software and hardware architecture
- Anticipates and plans for changes in technology; acts as a catalyst for changes
- Oversees development and maintenance and ensures systems remain operational
- Plans for and effectively drives implementation of value-added solutions
- Instill a culture of execution, operational excellence, and accountability for outcomes
- Inspires and mentors others to adopt the company’s key behaviors and core values
- Gives timely and constructive feedback leading to improved performance and accountability
- Inspires managers to take the lead in projects and deliver innovative, superior results which are integrated across job functions and projects
- Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of all client applications
- Provide trend analysis to enable informed decisions regarding resource allocation
- Oversee incident and problem management performance.
What You Will Need:
- 10+ years in Information Technology
- 5+ years of management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience with automation of Infrastructure activities
- Proficient with cloud based technologies
- Ability to architect long term technology infrastructure to support the growth of the business
- Strong vendor management skills
- Outstanding people and customer skills
- Clear and concise communicator both written and verbal; Ability to communicate effectively and convey ideas clearly
- ITIL-ITOM/ITSM knowledge and experience
- Develop schedules, shifts, and IT Projects/Initiatives for the team
- Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on process and user centric projects
- Practice implementing and executing mature incident and problem management
- Knowledge of running IT Operations in the Cloud as well as in Data Centers
- Ability to stay up to date with current technologies and trends and recommend new solutions
