VP Diversity

The Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion will oversee the Company Writers Mentoring Program, Directing Initiative, and the Viewfinder Emerging Director Program! This role will also serve as a consultant to various VCBS creative projects and programming across all brands (CBS, CBS News, MTV, Comedy Central, Pop, Paramount, Showtime, BET). 

Responsibilities:

  • VP will provide strategic and creative leadership at all levels to advance Company’ inclusion and diversity goals and cultivate an inclusive environment for people from all backgrounds. 
  • Provides meaningful consultation with a DE&I lens throughout the entire pre-production and production process across film, scripted TV and unscripted TV, including reviewing rough cuts, script notes and in front of and behind the camera recommendations for a more equitable space around our storytelling.
  • Collaborates with Production HR, Physical Production, EP’s and other Key Production management in promoting a production culture of open communication and inclusion, where all voices and perspectives are embraced.
  • Works with all brands across the Company enterprise to build a steady cadence around inclusion and equity and maintains a strong working relationship with producers, executives, agents, managers, community organizations that help support our content.
  • Will lead and work collaboratively across the organization to develop, monitor and report on actionable and measurable DEI goals, strategies and metrics in alignment with organizational and entertainment objectives. 
  • Develops new initiatives and events with the community to support and increase the pipeline for diverse content creators.
  • Works closely with external partners and DE&I advocacy groups in the industry that focus on diverse and female driven initiatives. This will include participating in and hosting industry events.
  • Advises on integrating best practices across the organization that champions a more inclusive workforce.

Job Requirements:

• 7+ years working in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

• Strong working relationships with Agents, Managers, Producers, Studios, Networks and Guilds.

• Strong working relationship with pipeline programs and community organizations.

• Must have experience working in and around development and current programming.

• Must have exceptional relationship building skills.

• Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instructions.

• Must have the ability to work well under time constraints.

• Must have strong organization and time management skills.

• Experience in oversight with different cross functional teams within the company.

• Must be able deal with highly confidential information.
