Come join our team as a Relocatable Housing Manufacturing Inspector where you will perform inspections of modular building construction in accordance with the California Administrative and Building Code requirements.??
In addition other responsibilities will include:?
Representing the District at modular building manufacturing plants and performs continuous inspection of the steel frame, wood frame, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other components of modular buildings.??
Performing inspections at District construction sites on contracts for relocatable buildings and permanent structures when alterations or new facilities are required.??
Performing inspections of structural steel fabrication and erection for District contracts.??
Analyzing plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents for consistency and conformity with state regulations and applicable codes.??
Maintaining daily inspection reports, project files and all required Division of State Architect (D.S.A.) and District inspection documentation.??
Preparing samples and performing tests on construction materials.??
Notifying architects and engineers of any material or work quality that does not meet contract specification or code requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education:??
An Associate in Arts or Science degree from a recognized college or university with at least twelve semester units in construction, architecture, or engineering or a closely related field.??
Qualifying experience in addition to that listed below may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education provided that the requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent is met.?Experience:??
Five years of construction experience, including three years as a Division of State Architect (D.S.A) certified Building/Construction Inspector (Class 1 or 2), Steel Inspector, or Senior Construction Trade Personnel in one of the primary structural building trades; or in architectural or engineering field observation of construction.
It is preferable that the experience cited be relative to the construction of school structures in California.?
Special:?The following are requirements and must be kept valid during the term of employment:??
A valid certification as a Certified Welding Inspector under D1.1 Structural Welding Code (AWS-CWI-D1.1) with the American Welding Society.??
A valid certification as a Relocatable Building Inspector-Plant (RBIP) by the Division of the State Architect (D.S.A), or possess and maintain certification as a D.S.A.
Class 1 or 2 Project Inspector.?
A valid California Driver License.??
Use of an automobile.
