Manager – National Tax – Passthrough Transactions Group (PTG)/Modeling

We currently have a career opportunity for a Partnership Transaction Modeling Manager in our National Passthrough Transactions Group (PTG) to work on and be an instrumental part of multiple challenging engagements and deliver quality tax planning services for our diverse clients.

What to expect

Your typical day will involve working in small groups on fast-paced projects with internal or external clients.

You’ll be heavily involved in formal deliverables, developing financial models, researching industry and company financial information and speaking to your findings.

In addition, you’ll be exposed to companies across various industries and located around the world, learning new things every day.

We’ll look to you to get familiar with tax policies and implications and build your knowledge around research tools and resources so you can speak articulately about a business or industry efficiently and effectively.

Your key responsibilities

  • Have a leading role in providing tax advisory services to clients on all aspects of joint venture and partnership tax matters, including acquisition, formation, operation, restructuring and disposition issues
  • Prepare and review detailed financial models to quantify the various transactional outcomes involved in a particular deal structure and/or industry segment
  • Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts and strong technical partnership tax skills, and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations
  • Provide high-quality and time-sensitive service to support our clients critical business needs
  • Build on technical competence by taking advantage of learning from nationally recognized tax professionals
  • Develop and guide junior tax professionals by providing effective feedback and training and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Operations Research, Financial Engineering, Statistics or related field and a minimum of six years related work experience; or a graduate degree in the above fields, Tax or Law and approximately more than five years of related work experience
  • Strong quantitative skills with an emphasis on accounting and corporate finance
  • Broad exposure to federal income taxation, including partnership taxation
  • Expert MS Excel skills with the ability to review complex financial models and build flexible calculations from scratch
  • Continuous learning mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including prior experience developing team members and interacting with clients or executive-level management
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work independently in a deal-driven environment

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A CPA certification, CFA charter, or graduate degree in a relevant field – Needed for advancement
  • Experience with modeling tax transactions
  • Experience with partnership tax compliance
  • Experience in a tax role in private client services or real estate
