Cost Accountant

Autonomous Medical Device Incorporated (AMDI Labs) is a fast-paced medical diagnostics company working on cutting-edge, point-of-care testing modalities. The COST ACCOUNTANT position will be located in our 110,000 square foot Santa Ana, CA location that is currently undergoing a complete renovation. In the interim period, the successful candidate will be working from our Los Angeles locations in Inglewood and Santa Monica, with some opportunity for remote work, until the move to Santa Ana, expected to be by 2022.COST ACCOUNTANTRoles and Responsibilities:The Cost Accountant will collaborate with other accountants and financial staff in the company to provide financial and cost accounting support to executives and department heads who establish goals and budgets for the organization. Their duties include, but are not limited to:• Collecting and analyzing direct and indirect operational cost data• Establish standard costing for manufactured and purchased goods• Evaluating significant variances and propose corrective actions• Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis based on “key drivers” with recommendations to enhance company processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profits.• Reviewing item and vendor master data to ensure data accuracy• Review capitalization and amortization of plant equipment• Performing account reconciliations• Assist in Month and Year-End Close and related financial statements• Prepare and execute internal cost audits and presenting findings to management• Planning and participating in physical inventory counts on a periodic basis• Additional duties as assigned.Qualifications/Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent work experience.• 3+ years of experience within an accounting or finance role – manufacturing experience strongly preferred.• The candidate should have solid knowledge of ERP’s with NetSuite being preferred but not essential.• General knowledge of US GAAP, general and cost accounting policies, and procedures.• Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills.
